JR Mercantile adds staff, fills retail space

CALGARY HERALD - Jeff Robson started his own commercial real estate company two years ago from a small 1st Street S.W. office. Today, JR Mercantile Real Estate Advisors is housed on the top floor of a 4th Street S.W. office, where experienced professionals Mark Biglow and Stephen Travers have joined as vice-presidents and associates.

Biglow, in the industry here since 1990 after moving from Winnipeg, most recently worked at Newmark Frank Knight Devencore. His focus is on office tenant representation, and he’s also been successful in assisting with land development. Biglow recently helped Longboard Construction acquire a site in Airdrie where it built 40,000 square feet of bay warehousing, and then he leased all of the units. Travers is a retail specialist with experience in the master franchising business. For 17 years, he represented Extreme Pita and Mucho Burrito, opening 105 stores in Alberta and B.C. For the Crave It Restaurant Group he opened Burger’s Priest, Bangkok Buri and Via Cibo locations, including its new restaurant at 14th Street and 16th Avenue S.W.
